The situation

Ramp sells to the people who run engineering and finance stacks, and those people spend their working hours in r/devops. Ramp had no presence there. Every thread where someone asked how to control cloud spend, cut SaaS sprawl or get engineers to file expenses was an opening being taken by someone else.

What we did

  • Mapped the recurring questions in r/devops and adjacent subreddits where Ramp had a genuinely useful answer.
  • Built a posting cadence of long-form, practitioner-level posts written the way the subreddit writes, not the way a brand writes.
  • Answered in the comments for days after each post, because on Reddit the comment thread is where the upvotes and the trust are earned.
  • Tracked every post's views, upvote ratio and referral traffic so the programme optimised towards what the community actually rewarded.

The result

2.64M views in r/devops from one sustained push. The posts are indexed, permanent and now surface when people search the problems Ramp solves, so the audience keeps compounding after the campaign stopped.

We were drowning with 7 people. Got back so many hours each week from reporting. Finally have bandwidth to focus on actual strategy

Found wasted spend in search terms we'd never have caught manually. Cut those, reallocated budget. ROAS up 45%

Caught that our conversion tracking was double-counting. We had no idea for like 3 months. Fixed it and everything made way more sense

Broke down performance by asset — thumbnails, headlines, everything. Suggested swaps based on real data. Our CTR basically doubled.
